Samsung originally planned to mass produce the SF1.4 process in 2027, but the latest report says it will be advanced to 2026.

TapTechNews learned from the report that Samsung Electronics' foundry business division plans to hold a foundry and SAFE forum in Silicon Valley, the US from June 12 to 13, and will announce its technology roadmap and plans to strengthen the foundry ecosystem.

According to Samsung's previous roadmap, the 2-nanometer SF2 process will debut in 2025. Compared with the second-generation 3GAP process of 3 nanometers, its energy efficiency is improved by 25% under the same frequency and complexity, and its performance is improved by 12% under the same power consumption and complexity, while the chip area is reduced by 5%.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company plans to reach the A16 node (1.6 nanometers) in 2027. According to a previous report by TechNews citing foreign media, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is expected to start mass production of 1.4 nanometers around 2027-2028.
