In Japan, The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Investigates Yamaha Motor After Toyota Inspection

TapTechNews June 5th news, NHK reported that after inspecting Toyota Motors, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan started inspecting the headquarters of Yamaha Motor in磐田市, Shizuoka Prefecture today.

Yamaha Motor was found to have conducted a noise test on a model in production under inappropriate conditions, and there were other violations. When submitting the horn test file for the two models produced in the past, a vehicle identification code of another vehicle was filled in, and one of the models in production has stopped shipping.

During the on-site inspection, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will check the test data with violations and interview the person in charge and senior management to investigate the detailed facts.

On June 3rd, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan announced that in view of consecutive violations in the process of obtaining type approval required for the mass production of automobiles and engines by companies such as Daihatsu Industrial Co. in Japan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism instructed a total of 85 automobile production companies to investigate whether there were similar situations.

As of the end of May, five companies including Toyota Motors, Mazda, Yamaha Motor, Honda Motor Co. and Suzuki have committed fraud in vehicle performance tests and other aspects, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will investigate these five companies according to the Road Transport Vehicle Act.
