Google to Release Pixel 9a in March 2025, Earlier Than Planned

TapTechNews on October 4th, it was reported that the tech media AndroidHeadline published a blog post yesterday (October 3rd), revealing that Google plans to release the Pixel 9a smartphone in March 2025, two months earlier than the regular time.

Google launched four phones, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in August (previously usually in October). The media learned from multiple sources that the Pixel 9a phone will also be released in advance.

The source said that Google's early release is permanent, meaning that the Pixel 10a will also be released in March 2026.

TapTechNews previously reported that the Google Pixel 9a phone has four colors. In addition to the common white (Porcelain) and black (Obsidian), two new colors, pink (Peony) and purple (Iris), will also be added.

The size of the Pixel 9a will be slightly taller and wider, with dimensions of 154 x 73 millimeters. It is about 2 millimeters taller and 1 millimeter wider than the Pixel 8a.

The Pixel 9a is also thinner, now with a thickness of 8.5 millimeters, while the Pixel 8a has a thickness of 8.9 millimeters. Due to the almost flush camera design with the body this year, this may mean a smaller battery.
