Western Digital's WDBlueSN5000 SSD Now Available, with Details

TapTechNews on June 19, Western Digital's WDBlueSN5000 solid-state drive is now available on the official website, including four capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB, and there is no 8TB version that was previously announced to be launched in summer.

The WDBlueSN5000 solid-state drive is in the M.2 2280 form factor and is equipped with a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface, continuing to use the nCache 4.0 cache technology from the previous-generation product WDBlueSN580.

According to the German media ComputerBase report, the WDBlueSN5000 adopts a 4-channel master control scheme without external cache and supports the NVMe 1.4 protocol.

Among them, the three versions with smaller capacity use 112-layer BiCS5 TLC flash memory, while the 4TB version is equipped with 162-layer BiCS6 QLC flash memory, and the 8TB version to be released in the future is also expected to use QLC flash memory.
