Baidu's Public Relations Update Liang Zhixiang Takes Over After Qu Jing's Departure

TapTechNews May 20th news, according to BianNiuShi, after the former Baidu public relations vice president, Qu Jing, left due to controversial remarks in short videos, Baidu senior vice president Liang Zhixiang has temporarily taken over the public relations business. It is not yet clear whether it is a temporary takeover to find the next public relations head or a formal takeover.

And according to the news obtained by Sina Technology, Liang Zhixiang has been in charge of Baidu's government relations (GR) and public relations (PR) business before, and the former Baidu public relations first position, Qu Jing, reported to Liang Zhixiang previously.

TapTechNews learned from Baidu's official website that Liang Zhixiang is currently the senior vice president of Baidu Group and the chairman of Baidu Data Management Committee. Liang Zhixiang also directly participated in Baidu's IPO process in the US Nasdaq in 2005 and completed the policy and legal support work in Baidu's acquisition and merger and domestic and international business cooperation projects over the years.

In June 2005, Liang Zhixiang joined Baidu.

In June 2011, he was promoted to vice president and served as the general legal counsel.

From early 2013 to February 2018, he served as the CEO assistant.

In October 2021, he served as the chairman of the Baidu Data Management Committee.

Based on this report of TapTechNews, the former Baidu vice president, Qu Jing, released several short videos earlier this month and made remarks such as public relations employees cannot have holidays and employees' resignation is approved instantly, and multiple topics went on Weibo hot search.

In the early morning of May 9th, Qu Jing posted an apology in the dead of night: releasing short videos without seeking the company's opinion and not representing the company's position. Qu Jing expressed deep reflection and humbly accepted criticism.

In the evening of May 9th, some media reported that Baidu vice president Qu Jing had left the company.
