NIO's New Move Fourth-Generation Battery Swap Station and More
TapTechNews June 1 news, at the 2024 Future Auto Pioneer Conference held today, NIO officially announced that the first fourth-generation battery swap station and 640kW all-liquid-cooled super-fast charging pile will be officially launched in Guangzhou on June 13.
NIO's fourth-generation battery swap station was released in December 2023. It is equipped with 23 battery compartments, with a maximum daily service of 480 times, and the single battery swap time is reduced by 22%; it is equipped with a 60-square-meter station roof photovoltaic system, and each station saves nearly 18,000 kWh of electricity per year, becoming a photovoltaic-storage-charging-swap integrated station.
NIO's fourth-generation battery swap station is equipped with 4 NVIDIA OrinX chips and 6 ultra-wide-angle LiDAR. The whole station computing power is 1016 TOPS; it is compatible with multi-specification battery packs and supports multi-brand shared battery swapping.
According to the plan, in 2024, NIO will add 1000 battery swap stations in the Chinese market, with a cumulative total of more than 3310; add 20,000 charging piles, with a cumulative total of more than 41,000.
As of June 1, NIO has laid out 2428 battery swap stations and 22601 charging piles nationwide, of which 304 battery swap stations have been laid out in Guangdong Province and the Macau Special Administrative Region, including 85 high-speed battery swap stations and 2971 charging piles.
