HMD's Upcoming Smartphones TA-1688, Tomcat and Nighthawk

TapTechNews June 1st news, The Finnish technology media, suomimobiili, released a blog post yesterday, stating that HMD plans to release a new smartphone in July (the e-commerce page shows that it will be released on July 10), with the model TA-1688, supporting dual SIM dual standby, and the retail price of the 8+256GB version is 520 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about $570).

HMD is currently developing two phones with the code names Nighthawk and Tomcat. It is currently not possible to determine which device will be named HMDSkyline, but the latter has a greater chance.

Tomcat

TapTechNews reported on May 25th that HMDTomcat will use an OLED display panel with a resolution of Full HD + and a refresh rate of 120Hz, resembling a full-screen version of 1520.

The phone uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen2 chip, with three cameras on the back with pixels of 108 million pixels, 800 thousand and 200 thousand, and a 3200-pixel front camera.

Nighthawk 

The phone with the code name Nighthawk has a lower price, estimated to be less than 300 euros. This phone uses a FullHD+ OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

This phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen2 chipset and comes with 8GB of memory and 128 or 256GB of storage space.

It is expected that this phone will also be equipped with a 108 million-pixel dual camera and a 3200-pixel front camera. The phone will also be equipped with a 5000 mAh battery, Android 14 operating system, stereo speakers, and a headphone jack.
