MediaTek's Strong Performance in 2024 Revenue, Market Share and Profit

TapTechNews July 10th news, MediaTek announced that its consolidated revenue in June was NT$43.092 billion (TapTechNews note: currently about RMB 9.64 billion), an increase of 2.23% month-on-month and a 12.8% year-on-year growth.

According to the latest report released by market research firm Omdia, in the global 5G smartphone market in the first quarter of 2024, the proportion of 5G smartphones equipped with MediaTek processors was as high as 29.2%, an increase of 6.4 percentage points year-on-year, ranking first. Qualcomm ranked second with a 26.5% share, followed by Apple, Samsung, Google, Huawei, and Unisoc, with a combined market share of 17%.

TapTechNews noted that MediaTek's revenue in the first quarter of 2024 was NT$133.458 billion, an increase of 3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 and a 39.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023, which was better than the previous expectation; the gross profit margin was 52.4%, an increase of 4.1 percentage points compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 and an increase of 4.4 percentage points compared to the same period in 2023, which was also better than expected; the net profit was NT$316.55 billion, a significant increase of 87.4% compared to the same period in 2023, and the earnings per share was NT$19.85, setting a record for the third-highest in a single quarter.
