AMD's Ryzen 9000 Desktop Processor Release Delay Due to Top Cover Silk-Screen Printing Error

TapTechNews July 29th news, comprehensively referring to the dynamics of X platform insider HXL (@9950pro) and the article of foreign media Tom's Hardware, the wrong silk-screen printing on the top cover is one of the reasons why AMD postponed the release of the Ryzen 9000 desktop processor.

It is currently not confirmed whether this release postponement is also related to other issues.

AMD previously stated in the announcement that in the final inspection process, it was found that the first batch of production units sent to channel partners did not fully meet AMD's quality expectations, and the retail supply of the Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors will have a short delay.

Among them, the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors will go on the market on August 8th, and the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X processors will go on the market on August 15th.

The picture shared by HXL Note 1 shows a 9700X processor, and the OPN product ID of this CPU is 100-000001404, corresponding to the retail version of AMD Ryzen 7 9700X.

However, the top cover is printed with AMD Ryzen 9 9700X, and the product grade name has an error.

According to Tom's Hardware report, the same problem also occurs on some AMD Ryzen 5 9600X processors, and also the product grade is printed as Ryzen 9.

It is worth noting that the launch time of the two new Ryzen 9 processor products is later than that of the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 products where the silk-screen printing error has been confirmed.
