ASUS to Start Selling Laptops with AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series Processors

TapTechNews on June 26th reports that ASUS has confirmed that it will start selling laptops equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series StrixPoint processors from July 15 this year.

ASUS' official online store has shown that it will sell its new Zenbook S16 (UM5606) OLED notebook on July 15 and will be available in multiple markets of ASUS.

TapTechNews reported on the 18th of this month that AMD's Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors have now been listed on some overseas e-commerce platforms, among which the Ryzen AI 300 series laptops are expected to be sold on July 15, and the Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors are expected to be sold on July 31.

AMD has not officially confirmed that it will launch the Zen5 StrixPoint APU on July 15 yet, but judging from the ASUS official website and other online e-commerce platforms, this date should be accurate.

The new AMD StrixPoint processor was officially announced at the 2024 Taipei Computer Show and renamed the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series (the third-generation Ryzen AI).

The AMD Ryzen AI 300 series is equipped with:

Zen5 CPU (up to 12 cores and 24 threads)

RDNA3.5 GPU (up to 16 CUs)

XDNA 2 AINPU (with 50 TOPS computing power), claiming to exceed Qualcomm Snapdragon X (45 TOPS), Intel Lunar Lake (40-45 TOPS), and Apple M4 (38 TOPS), and is the world's most powerful Copilot + PC NPU

AMD has launched two mobile Ryzen AI 300 series APU products:

AMD Ryzen AI9 365: 10 cores (4 Zen5 + 6 Zen5c), 34 MB, 5.0 GHz, AMD Radeon 880M GPU (12 CUs)

AMD Ryzen AI9 HX370: 12 cores (4x Zen5 + 8 Zen5c), 36 MB, 5.1 GHz, AMD Radeon 890M GPU (16 CUs).

AMD claims that Ryzen AI300 will be 36% stronger than Intel Core Ultra 9185H in gaming performance.
