On August 23 Beijing time, according to the information provided by the aircraft tracking website JetSpy and the private jet tracker Jack Sweeney, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, spent approximately $80 million (about 570 million Chinese yuan) to buy his fourth private jet.

Sweeney posted on X that Bezos bought a new plane again. This is a brand-new Gulfstream G700 with the registration number N11AF and was delivered on July 10, 2024.

The Gulfstream G700 is manufactured by the famous American business jet company Gulfstream Aerospace and is a luxury business jet, considered one of the largest and most advanced private jets in the world. The maximum range of the Gulfstream G700 is about 7,500 nautical miles (about 14,000 kilometers), and the maximum speed can reach 0.925 Mach, about 92.5% of the speed of sound, that is, 710 miles per hour (about 1142 kilometers).

In March this year, the Gulfstream G700 obtained the certification of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and finally could carry passengers to fly after nine months of anticipation. The first two planes were delivered to the private jet division of Qatar Airways. According to the report of the Texas news website Austonia in June, Elon Musk also ordered a Gulfstream G700.

The data of JetSpy shows that Bezos also owns the previous two generations of the Gulfstream G700: G650 and Pilatus PC-24. Including the Gulfstream G700, the total value of Bezos' private jets has exceeded $200 million. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows that as of Wednesday, Bezos' net worth is $203 billion, making him the world's second richest person, second only to Musk.

Like the PC-24, the Gulfstream G700 shows in the FAA registration that its owner is a company named TVPX Aircraft Solutions. The website of TVPX said that the company provides trust services for American business aviation due to regulations related to citizenship or for enhanced privacy.

JetSpy said that this plane then made several flights under the FAA's International Civil Aviation Organization Privacy Aircraft Address (PIA) program. This program allows private aircraft owners to fly anonymously by using a temporary aircraft registration number.

Last Sunday, this G700 took off from Ibiza. At about the same time, Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez were photographed on the island, walking towards his $500 million superyacht.

The data of JetSpy shows that the plane flew 28 times in 39 days and emitted 264 tons of carbon dioxide. This is about 17 times the annual emissions of an average American.

Currently, Bezos still serves as the executive chairman of Amazon. As of the time of writing, Amazon has not commented on Bezos' private jet.
