According to TapTechNews, the current generation of Sagitar model on sale has been on the market for 5 years, and the new car is expected to be a全新换代 version corresponding to the new generation of Jetta model in the overseas market. In comparison with the current model, the new Sagitar will have significant updates in design, adopting the latest family design language. The front face design is more concise, with a new front grille shape, and this design concept has been applied on the latest SAIC Volkswagen Tiguan L PRO. The shape and internal light source layout of the taillight group of the new car are also expected to be adjusted, and it may be equipped with a taillight group with more regular lines and a straighter shape.

As a reference, the current Sagitar on sale provides two engines: 1.2T and 1.5T. The maximum power of the 1.2T engine is 85 kilowatts, and the maximum torque is 175 Newton-meters; while the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 118 kilowatts, and the maximum torque is 250 Newton-meters. In terms of the transmission system, the 1.2T engine is matched with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the 1.5T engine is matched with a 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmission.
