Apple to Launch Foldable iPhone in 2026 and Develop 20.3-Inch Foldable MacBook

According to TapTechNews on June 10, Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International, revealed today that Apple will launch a foldable iPhone in 2026. The device is said to adopt an 'outward folding design' and the screen will be 7.9 inches when unfolded, 'imilar to the Huawei Mate Xs2'.

Meanwhile, Jeff Pu also revealed that Apple is developing a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook. This device may be similar to the ThinkPad X1 Fold and adopts an inward folding design. It is expected to enter mass production in 2025.

For comparison, the Huawei Mate Xs2 phone was launched in May 2022. This phone is equipped with a 7.8-inch 120Hz outward folding screen. The resolution can reach 2480*2200 after unfolding and supports P3 global color management and high dynamic range display. However, Huawei has since abandoned the outward folding design. The Mate X5 phone launched by the company in September 2023 adopts a 'uper clear immersive dual screen' design (outer screen + inner folding screen), supports 1-1800 nits pixel-level brightness adjustment, 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 426 ppi pixel density, and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It has obtained the double certification of German Rheinland color accuracy and accurate color projection. Regarding this phone, TapTechNews has also conducted unboxing.
