For users interested in testing new features/characteristics of Windows 10, open Settings > Update and Security > Windows Insider Program, and then select the Beta channel.

Microsoft stated that there are the following two situations for existing Windows 10 devices participating in the Windows Insider project, and TapTechNews attached the relevant introduction as follows:

Windows 10 Insider devices that meet the requirements for upgrading to Windows 11 system:

After users enter the Beta test channel, Microsoft will not automatically upgrade the user's equipment to Windows 11. The Windows 11 upgrade will be provided as an option, and you can choose to upgrade when you are ready.

Users can switch to the Canary or Dev channels, but after switching to the above two channels, they will upgrade to the Windows 11 system.

If users switch to the Canary or Dev channels, there will be a grace period to return to the Windows 10 system. But after this grace period is closed, the only way to return to the Beta channel or reuse Windows 10 is to reinstall.

For Windows 10 Insider devices that do not meet the requirements for upgrading to Windows 11:

Users cannot see the options to switch to the Canary or Dev channels, and these two options are only applicable to the Windows 11 Insider Preview version.

The Windows 10 support termination date remains unchanged on October 14, 2025. Joining the Beta channel on your Windows 10 PC will not change this date.
