China Unicom Launches New Product CUniqSG in Singapore for Cross-Border Communication

TapTechNews August 8th news, on August 7th, China Unicom held a new product launch in Singapore and introduced the new China-Singapore cross-border communication innovative product CUniqSG.

The CUniqSG released this time is a new mobile communication product jointly launched by China Unicom and StarHub. It provides users with a 'one-card-two-number' service. Users only need to apply for one SIM card and can have both a Singaporean and a Chinese mobile phone number, obtaining data, voice and text messaging services in both China and Singapore.

According to China Unicom, CUniqSG offers a rich and diverse product package, with a monthly fee ranging from S$10.90 to S$39.90 (currently about US$4.1 to US$15.2), providing up to 300GB of local Singapore traffic and 60GB of shared traffic among Singapore, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, China. On this basis, an ASEAN multi-country roaming data package covering Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand is also superimposed to meet the usage needs of different groups such as students, tourists and business people.

TapTechNews noticed that CUniqSG provides both physical SIM cards and eSIM options to cover the adaptation needs of various terminal devices.

At the meeting, China Unicom Singapore Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with five enterprises including SF Express, SuperTech, WEIOTPTELTD, SINGSECPTELTD and LinksField.

According to the official website of the 'Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore', the 'Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on the Mutual Exemption of Visas for Holders of Ordinary Passports' has officially come into effect since February 9th. Currently, passengers with ordinary passports from both countries can enter each other's countries visa-free for private affairs such as tourism, visiting relatives and business, and stay for no more than 30 days.
