Previously, the outside world guessed that maybe only Thomas was dismissed, but Warren clarified this statement, indicating that many people in the Xbox department will be unemployed. There will be more Xbox employees being laid off this week, Warren wrote, Microsoft even fired her while Thomas was on vacation. It is understood that Thomas has been working for Microsoft since 2015 and served as a senior business product manager for cultural projects as of 2022.

Although there haven't been any other news of Microsoft/Xbox employees being laid off today or earlier this week, more news may come out陆续in the next few days.

TapTechNews noticed that after conducting a large-scale layoff in January this year, Microsoft announced in May the closure of three of its Xbox game studios, including the well-known studio Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, and several other Bethesda Softworks studios. After the news of the studio closures came out, the industry generally predicted that Xbox will conduct further layoffs.
