According to a report by Jiupai News, an employee in the Shenzhen R & D department of Shopee said that at 10 p.m. on the 17th, he received an important notice from the personnel department on the company's internal office software Seatalk. The notice said, Today (June 17) in the afternoon, a Shopee R & D center colleague suddenly felt unwell. The team colleagues and the company called 120 emergency at the first time to send the colleague to the hospital. But it is very sad that the colleague passed away unfortunately after rescue efforts failed.
Relevant screenshots show that the notice stated, We express our deep condolences. Currently, the company has established a special team to fully cooperate with the family to handle relevant aftermath work. If colleagues need any help, please contact your HRBP. At this difficult time, it is also hereby reminded that everyone should respect colleagues' privacy and not spread any unsubstantiated news and personal photos on any channels.
An employee in the report also said that Shopee has also started to become intense this year. Usually, one has to work overtime until 9-10 p.m. and there is no overtime pay; there will be no compensatory time off for working overtime at night unless it is until two or three o'clock in the morning, and then one can rest for half a day the next day. However, overall, it is still a little better than other Internet enterprises.
