TapTechNews reported on May 28th. According to CCTV News and the China Manned Space Engineering Office, at 18:58 Beijing time on May 28, 2024, after about 8.5 hours of extravehicular activities, the astronauts of the Shenzhou-18 crew, Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, worked closely together. With the cooperation and support of the space station's robotic arm and ground researchers, they completed the installation of the space debris protection device on the space station and the inspection of extravehicular equipment and facilities. Astronauts Ye Guangfu and Li Guangsu have safely returned to the Wentian Laboratory Module, and the extravehicular activity was a complete success. Astronaut Ye Guangfu walked in space again, and astronaut Li Guangsu carried out the extravehicular activity task for the first time.

According to the plan, during the Shenzhou-18 manned flight mission, a large number of scientific experiments and technical tests will also be carried out, as well as the extravehicular activities of the astronaut crew and the extravehicular tasks of application loads.

TapTechNews noticed that since the Shenzhou-18 astronauts successfully entered the space station complex on April 26, 2024 Beijing time, the Shenzhou-18 astronaut crew has been working and living on orbit for more than a month, and the Shenzhou-18 astronaut crew will stay at the space station for about 6 months. During the on-orbit period, they will carry out space science and application experiments and tests, implement astronaut extravehicular activities and cargo in and out of the cabin, and carry out the installation of the space debris protection device on the space station, the installation and recovery of extravehicular loads and extravehicular equipment. In addition, they will also carry out science popularization education and public welfare activities, as well as space-borne experiments.
