TapTechNews July 9th news, Orico has recently launched the crowdfunding of the hybrid storage DataMatrix on Kickstarter, claiming it to be the world's first of its kind for real-time post-production.
The DataMatrix series is jointly developed by Orico and Western Digital, equipped with dual Thunderbolt 4 interfaces, dual 10Gbps Type-C interfaces, dual 10Gbps Type-A interfaces and DP1.4 interface, and multiple hybrid storages support daisy chain connection.
DataMatrix includes three versions, namely Elite, Pro and Ultra from low to high, and each version adopts a combination of an M.2 solid-state drive with a 3000MB/s sequential read and write rate paired with multiple Western Digital WD RED NAS 3.5 CMR mechanical hard drives.
Orico said that DataMatrix adopts a hybrid partition, with the solid-state drive performing fast tasks such as rendering and editing, and the mechanical hard drive responsible for large-scale backup, and the overall has a video import and export rate of 1500MB/s.

The 18TB version of DataMatrix Pro has a crowdfunding price of 1699 US dollars (currently about 12368 RMB);
The 42TB version of DataMatrix Ultra has a crowdfunding price of 2699 US dollars (currently about 19647 RMB).
