China's 'Quality Anchor Cultivation Project' Led by CFIS with TikTok Live as the First Pilot

TapTechNews August 6th news, according to Southern Net, the Live Streaming and Short Video Professional Committee of the China Federation of Internet Societies (abbreviated as CFIS) initiated the 'Quality Anchor Cultivation Project' and guided various platforms to gradually carry out the identification work of quality live rooms in stages. TikTok Live has become the first pilot platform for the 'Quality Anchor Cultivation Project'.

This project is guided by the Network Comprehensive Governance Bureau of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, aiming to guide platform enterprises and institutions to fulfill their main responsibilities and explore and cultivate a number of positive energy anchors with outstanding industry demonstrations, strong public welfare driving forces, and relatively high social popularity.

In the first three-year period of the project (2024 - 2026), it will guide the identification of 6000 quality live rooms and drive the platform to cultivate promote 30,000 positive energy live rooms, which is conducive to promoting the high-quality development of the live streaming industry.

The China Federation of Internet Societies was established in Beijing in May 2018 and is a national, united, and hub non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by domestic social organizations and related institutions in the field of network security and informatization.

The regularization and professionalization of online anchors is becoming an industry trend. According to TapTechNews' previous report, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, together with the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Bureau of Statistics, released information on 19 new occupations and 28 new types of work on July 31, including online anchors.
