FAW-Volkswagen Recalls Some Imported Audi Electric Vehicles

Recently, FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products.

TapTechNews learned that starting from June 15th, 2024, some imported Audi e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT electric vehicles produced between July 26th, 2022 and June 28th, 2023 will be recalled, a total of 251 vehicles.

In some vehicles within the scope of this recall, an internal short circuit may occur inside the high-voltage power battery module, and in extreme cases, it may lead to thermal runaway of the battery module and there is a risk of fire.

FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust FAW Audi authorized dealers to test the high-voltage power batteries of the vehicles within the scope of the recall. If there is any abnormality, the abnormal battery module will be replaced free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards. Before the implementation of the recall measures, it is recommended that users limit the charging power to less than 80% (about 320 volts).
