TapTechNews May 31st news, ASUS has officially announced that it will announce the second-generation handheld gaming computer ROG Ally X at the Computex event on June 2. Before the official release, this game handheld was leaked on a South Korean e-commerce website and it was confirmed to be equipped with an 80Wh capacity battery.

According to the promotional poster on the e-commerce platform, the ASUS ROG Ally X handheld is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen with a resolution of FHD and a refresh rate of 120Hz, and the peak brightness is 500 nits, but it is currently not possible to confirm whether it uses the same LCD panel as the previous generation or switches to an OLED panel.

The promotional poster also shows that the handheld uses the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as the previous generation, with 8 cores and 16 threads, paired with an RDNA3 graphics processor, 24GB of memory, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 solid-state drive (using the more common M.2 2280 format, and the previous generation was M.2 2230 format).

The poster shows that the ROG Ally X will be equipped with an 80Wh battery. Compared to the 40Wh battery of the first-generation ROG Ally, the battery life will be greatly improved. According to the promotion, this battery can be used continuously for 3 hours in heavy gaming, which will be a major upgrade.

The listing price of ROG Ally X in South Korea is 1,592,310 Korean won (TapTechNews note: currently about 8,391 yuan). It is expected to be released in June.
