New Nanchong-Bazhong High-Speed Railway Starts Operation

TapTechNews June 27th news, the China Railway Group announced today that the newly-built Nanchong-Bazhong section of the Hanzhong-Bazhong-Nanchong Railway (referred to as the Bazhong-Nan High-Speed Railway) has officially started operation today.

TapTechNews learned from public information that the Bazhong-Nan High-Speed Railway starts from the newly-built Bazhong East Station and passes through the economic development zone, Bazhou District, and Enyang District in Bazhong City, and Yilong County, Nanbu County, and Peng'an County in Nanchong City, and connects to the Nanchong North Station. The total length of the main line is about 148 miles (about 238 kilometers), and the designed speed of the main line is 250 kilometers per hour.

This section has a total of 6 stations, among which the Nanchong North Station is the connecting station, and the Peng'an West Station, Yilong Station, Ma'an Station, Bazhong West Station and Bazhong East Station are newly-built intermediate stations.

At the initial stage of the operation of the Bazhong-Nan High-Speed Railway, the railway department has organized the operation of 20 EMU trains, including 10 from Chengdu East to Bazhong East, 2 from Chengdu East to Yilong, 6 from Chongqing West (Chongqing North) to Bazhong East, and 2 from Xichang West to Bazhong East.

The official pointed out that the opening and operation of the Bazhong-Nan High-Speed Railway is of great significance for improving the intercity railway network in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, accelerating the development of tourism resources along the line, promoting the economic and social development in the areas along the line, and accelerating the development of the old revolutionary base areas in the northeastern part of Sichuan.
