Volkswagen and SAIC Sign Multiple Technical Cooperation Agreements

According to the official WeChat account of SAIC, in the afternoon of June 27th, Volkswagen Group, SAIC, Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd., and SAIC Volkswagen signed a number of technical cooperation agreements related to new product projects of SAIC Volkswagen in Shanghai.

This includes a technical cooperation agreement for the development of three plug-in hybrid models and two pure electric models in China. It is expected that from 2026 onwards and beyond 2030, the jointly developed multiple plug-in hybrid models and pure electric models will be successively launched onto the market.

TapTechNews noted that on May 20th, SAIC has already signed a cooperation agreement with Audi Automobile, officially starting the joint development of the SAIC Audi AdvancedDigitizedPlatform intelligent digital platform, and the production base of the new intelligent digital platform has also simultaneously started an upgrade, and the new car will be offline in 2025. Officially claimed that with the signing of these multiple cooperation development agreements, SAIC Volkswagen's product layout and technical capabilities in the new energy field will be more complete, and the product portfolio has been planned beyond 2030.
