On June 10, TapTechNews reported that a set of camouflaged real vehicle images of BYD Song LDM-i were exposed on the internet. The car is expected to adopt BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology and will belong to the Dynasty Network for sale after it goes on the market in the future.
From the leaked images, it can be seen that the Song LDM-i inherits the design language of the Dynasty Network family. Its front face design is similar to that of Qin LDM-i, with a large-sized hexagonal grille and headlights connected by black trim strips, and the front bumper is decorated with silver trim strips. The body lines are smooth with a fastback style, and it is equipped with hidden door handles and rear privacy glass, and the wheel rims use a brand new semi-closed design. The rear part of the car is similar to that of Song L, equipped with through-type taillights and two-stage rear spoilers.
Although the official has not yet announced the specific body size of the Song LDM-i, there are rumors that this will be the next-generation model of BYD Song PLUS DM-i and will belong to the Dynasty Network for sale. BYD Song PLUS DM-i may be renamed Sea Lion 05 DM-i and continue to be sold in the Ocean Network. Therefore, the Song LDM-i is likely to be positioned as a compact SUV.
It is worth noting that although both models are named Song L, there are obvious differences in appearance design and vehicle positioning between the Song LDM-i and the currently sold Song L model. The Song LDM-i adopts the plug-in hybrid appearance style of the Dynasty Network, while the Song L is a medium-sized SUV with a more sporty style of pure electric vehicles.
It is understood that the Song LDM-i will be equipped with BYD's fifth-generation DM hybrid technology. Referring to the new BYD Song PLUS DM-i declared in the previous Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, its power system is composed of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. The maximum power of the 1.5-liter engine is 74 kilowatts, and the maximum power of the drive motor is 160 kilowatts. In addition, the Song LDM-i will also be equipped with front McPherson and rear four-link independent suspensions.
TapTechNews noticed that BYD's Dynasty Network already has two models, Yuan PLUS and Song Pro DM-i, in the compact SUV market, and the sales in April are both at the forefront of the same level. The addition of the Song LDM-i will undoubtedly provide consumers with more choices.
