Geely Holding Group and ByteDance Donate for Hainan's Post-Disaster Reconstruction

TapTechNews September 14th news, Geely Holding Group announced today that together with the Li Shufu Public Welfare Foundation, it donated 6 million yuan ($878,000) to the Hainan Charity Federation to purchase emergency disaster relief materials in the Hainan disaster area and support the post-disaster reconstruction work.

TapTechNews found out through publicly available information that Typhoon Mocca, the 11th typhoon this year, landed in Wenchang, Hainan on September 6th, causing significant losses to Haikou and Wenchang in Hainan, and Zhanjiang in Guangdong. It is understood that Typhoon Mocca has become the strongest autumn typhoon to land in China since 1949.

The Beijing ByteDance Public Welfare Foundation announced on September 11th that it would donate 5 million yuan ($731,000) and join hands with public welfare institutions such as the China Education Development Foundation and the China Rural Development Public Welfare Foundation to support post-disaster recovery and reconstruction work such as road clearance and school repairs in the severely affected areas such as Hainan and Guangdong.
