TapTechNews June 2nd news, at the ongoing NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's Taipei Computex 2024 keynote speech, Jensen Huang introduced NVIDIA Earth-2, a digital twin of the Earth mainly used for weather observation. Based on NVIDIA's CorrDiff generative AI model technology, it claims to integrate artificial intelligence, physical simulation and observational data, and can predict the impact on the future world from today's data.
NVIDIA claims that compared to the first-generation Earth digital twin of the Earth, Earth-2 can accurately predict weather information with a 12-times resolution (increased from 25 kilometers to 2 kilometers), claiming to represent a huge leap in regional weather prediction, and also reportedly can improve energy efficiency by 3000 times.
NVIDIA also said that Earth-2 will also support hyper-local prediction in the future and can simulate the airflow around buildings. In the test results of the meteorological bureau, it can predict the landing point of typhoons with an accuracy value of 10 meters, claiming to help relevant departments and companies accurately foresee the future and prevent the impact of extreme weather.
