The close follower is Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of the global luxury goods giant LVMH Group (LVMH Moët Hennessy), whose net worth is $205 billion, with a slight gap from Bezos. Despite having similar wealth amounts, the paths these two giants have taken to accumulate their vast fortunes are completely different.

Bloomberg quoted the February filing of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that Bezos, in addition to owning the space exploration company Blue Origin, also holds approximately 9% of Amazon's shares.

After Bezos and Arnault, Elon Musk is ranked as the third richest person in the world with a net worth of $198 billion. Followed by Mark Zuckerberg with a net worth of $180 billion and Larry Page, the Google co-founder with $157 billion.

In March of this year, Bezos briefly surpassed the then-world richest person, Elon Musk. The Blue Origin founder has also topped the rich list many times before.

Bloomberg previously reported that Bezos sold 1.1 million shares of Amazon last month, and more than half of the proceeds ($117 million) were used to fund the preschool project he founded. Bezos promised in 2022 to donate most of his wealth to charities.

It is notable that one of the fastest-growing wealth on the list this year is Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang. Thanks to the soaring Nvidia stock price, Jensen Huang has jumped to the 14th position on the Bloomberg rich list, with wealth reaching $106 billion. In less than 18 months, Jensen Huang's net worth has increased by approximately $93 billion.
