China Southern Airlines to Buy 100 C919 Aircraft

According to the information provided by Comac, the list price of a C919 series aircraft is 99 million US dollars (currently about 720 million Chinese yuan), and the total price is about 9.9 billion US dollars (currently about 72.049 billion Chinese yuan). As early as April 29 this year, China Southern Airlines shares announced in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that the company entered into this agreement with Comac to purchase 100 C919 series aircraft from Comac.

China Southern Airlines stated that this aircraft acquisition is in line with the national strategy and effectively meets the company's medium and long-term fleet development needs. Under the overall layout of the national civil aviation development strategy, the domestic narrow-body aircraft market demand shows a significant upward trend. By introducing 100 C919 series aircraft from 2024 to 2031, the company can relieve the pressure of the company's capacity demand, realize the balanced layout of the fleet structure, and enhance the company's comprehensive strength and brand image.

Just on June 20, which just passed, Air China announced that it would spend about 10.8 billion US dollars to purchase 100 C919 extended-range domestic large aircraft. And China Eastern Airlines signed the C919 Aircraft Purchase Agreement with the commercial company on September 28, 2023, and purchased 100 C919 aircraft from Comac.
