Macau's First Science and Technology Test Satellite 'AoKe One' Launched and Its Significance

TapTechNews August 7th news, to celebrate the return of Macau to China, the first science and technology test satellite in Macau was named Macau Science One (abbreviated as AoKe One), and it was launched into space on May 21, 2023 on a Long March 2C rocket.

The official team of AoKe One has now officially released the scientific data of all the payloads of the satellite through the official website, indicating that the scientific data of the AoKe One satellite is officially open to the world and provides valuable geophysical space data resources for the international scientific community.

The official said that all data are processed and released to the world by the Macau Satellite Science and Application Data Center (Macau). The processing of this batch of high-quality satellite scientific data has received strong support from scientists at home and abroad. To ensure the data quality, the European Space Agency organized several meetings to calibrate and verify the data of the AoKe One satellite.

AoKe One satellite is a major scientific and technological innovation project jointly carried out by the Chinese mainland and Macau. It consists of two satellites, A and B. Satellite A was developed by Aerospace Dongfanghong of the Fifth Research Institute of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group, and is equipped with advanced high-precision vector magnetometer, highly stable optical platform, high-precision scalar magnetometer, etc., which can realize high-precision geomagnetic field detection; Satellite B is equipped with solar X-ray detector, energy electron spectrometer, etc.

As TapTechNews knows, AoKe One is China's first high-precision geomagnetic field detection satellite, and it is the world's first and so far the only scientific exploration satellite that uses a low-inclination orbit to monitor the geomagnetic field and space environment in the South Atlantic Anomaly Region (SAA) near the equator, and it is also the first science and technology test satellite in Macau.

AoKe One aims to observe the fine characteristics of the magnetic field changes in the abnormal area of the Earth's magnetic field over the South Atlantic and realize the short-term change forecast in the geomagnetic field, and is expected to make meaningful achievements in the cross-field of astronomy and earth sciences (deep earth, deep sea, deep space).
