US AI Startup Anthropic to Seek New Financing, Potential High Valuation

TapTechNews September 24th news, TheInformation reported that the US AI startup Anthropic has begun to negotiate with investors for a new round of financing.

An existing investor disclosed that the valuation of Anthropic after the new round of financing may reach 300 to 400 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 2,116.03 to 2,821.37 billion RMB), which is approximately twice the valuation after completing a round of financing earlier this year.

Anthropic mainly relies on its generative AI chatbot Claude to generate revenue and is regarded as the largest startup competitor of OpenAI.

Before that, OpenAI was also reported to be raising 5 to 7 billion US dollars at a valuation of 150 billion US dollars, almost twice as high as that in the first quarter of this year.
