Sony (China) Recalls High-Resolution Music Players

TapTechNews May 27 - On May 24, Sony (China) Co., Ltd. reported a recall plan to the Beijing Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau in accordance with the requirements of the Interim Provisions on the Administration of Recall of Consumer Goods and voluntarily recalled the Sony (SONY) brand high-resolution music player (models: NW-WM1AM2, NW-WM1ZM2) produced from September 8, 2023 to April 16, 2024, involving 2320 units.

For the high-resolution music players within the scope of this recall, when the high gain output is turned on and the volume is adjusted to the maximum, it does not meet the requirements of the GB4943.1-2022 standard. If it is used at the highest volume for a long time, in extreme cases, it may affect hearing. (GB4943.1-2022 is a Chinese national standard.)

Sony (China) Co., Ltd. will carry out the recall of defective products in the form of free software upgrade for consumers through Sony's authorized service stations to eliminate potential safety hazards.
