Former R* Employee Reveals GTA3 Multiplayer Details

TapTechNews May 27th news, recently, former R* employee ObbeVermeij answered some GTA-related questions raised by fans on social media.

When it comes to the multiplayer mode, ObbeVermeij revealed that considering that both the first-generation GTA and GTA2 have multiplayer online modes, R* initially planned a multiplayer game for GTA3, and he actually wrote code for the relevant functions, but unfortunately, this mode was ultimately not released.

TapTechNews learned that the reason why R* cancelled the multiplayer mode of GTA3 is that R* had too many things to do at that time and was 'too busy to develop it', while GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas did not offer an official multiplayer mode respectively due to 'technical issues' and 'cost considerations' (players can play online through third-party VCMP/SAMP and other platforms).
