Chinese Scientists Museum to Open on May 30th

Since 2010, the China Association for Science and Technology has jointly organized and implemented the Older Scientists' Academic Growth Data Collection Project with 11 departments. It is reported that in the past more than ten years, the data collection work of the academic growth of 674 scientists has been carried out successively, and it has become the largest collection project of precious historical materials of scientists with the richest content and the widest types in China at present.

This project has obtained 147,000 pieces of original physical materials, 345,000 pieces of digital materials, 470,000 minutes of video materials, and 560,000 minutes of audio materials, covering letters, manuscripts, scientific instruments, works, audio and video of Chinese scientists in the process of academic growth, and precious historical materials such as cultural relics and documents related to major events in the development of Chinese science and technology.

The Chinese Scientists Museum is located in the National Science and Technology Communication Center (Cultural Comprehensive Area of Beijing Olympic Central Area). The first exhibition series activities to be held at that time include 1 main exhibition and 5 special exhibitions, with a total exhibition area of 5,000 square meters (about 53,820 square feet). The public can make free reservations for visits starting from the afternoon of May 30th, and the main exhibition includes the following sections:

This exhibition includes more than 400 cultural relics and sets and more than 400 precious pictures of more than 190 scientists, and also includes more than 10 large-scale exhibits provided by relevant scientific research units.

Starting from the afternoon of May 30th, the public can make free reservations for visits through the WeChat official accounts of the National Science and Technology Communication Center or the Chinese Scientists Museum. At the same time, 287 Scientists Spirit Education Bases across the country will jointly hold the National Check-in and Visit the Museum activity. The Scientists Map will also be released during the event, which will gather and present the national exhibition resources of the scientists spirit in the form of an online map, comprehensively using modern technical means such as VR display, AI generation, and digital human interaction.
