BAIC New Energy's May Updates and Future Launches

BAIC Blue Valley New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. today announced the May production and sales express of its subsidiary, BAIC New Energy. The data shows that in May, the sales volume of Beijing New Energy Automobile was 5,433 units, an increase of 33% year-on-year; the cumulative sales in the current year was 18,437 units, a cumulative decrease of 23.07% compared to last year. In contrast, the sales volume of Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. in April was 2,882 units.

The Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. mentioned above owns two major brands, ArcFox and Beijing Auto. In addition, the flagship sedan jointly created by BAIC Blue Valley and Huawei, the Xiangjie S9, will also be launched in early August this year, and the expected price of this car is $65,500-$79,050. The models currently on sale for BEIJING Auto include EU7 and EU5. The latter was upgraded to EU5 Plus in August 2023.

At the end of last month, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. transferred the registered trademark of Xiangjie in the category of transportation tools to Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. This trademark was applied by Huawei in May last year and registered in November.

At yesterday's 2024 Future Automobile Pioneer Conference, Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei, Chairman of the Terminal BG, and Chairman of the Smart Automobile Solution BU, disclosed that the pre-sale price of the Xiangjie S9 is $65,500-$79,050, which is only one-tenth of the price of a Maybach, but it is more luxurious than a Maybach.
