Amazon AWS to Provide $230M in Funding for Global AI Startups

TapTechNews June 17th news, Amazon AWS Cloud recently announced that it will provide $230 million in funding (TapTechNews note: Currently about 1.673 billion yuan) to global AI startups to support these enterprises in accelerating the development of generative AI applications.

This portion of funds will be used to provide guidance, education, and free AWS cloud services for startups (especially early-stage startups) and promote these enterprises to further use AI and ML technologies.

As part of the overall funding, Amazon will launch the second batch of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator program to provide 10-week systematic guidance for 80 top early-stage startups that use generative AI to solve complex challenges.

The 80 enterprises will receive up to $1 million in AWS credits (currently about 7.276 million yuan), which can be used to pay for the AWS cloud expenses required for the construction to release of their generative AI solutions.

These enterprises also have the opportunity to participate in the industry expert meeting and technology showcase provided by Amazon's showcase partner NVIDIA and join the NVIDIA Inception program aimed at nurturing cutting-edge startups.

Matt Wood, vice president of Amazon AWS Cloud AI products, said:

Over the past 18 years, AWS has helped more startups build, launch, and scale their businesses than any other cloud provider - 96% of the AI/ML unicorn companies use AWS cloud services, which is no coincidence.

Through this new effort, we will help startups launch and expand world-class businesses and provide them with the building blocks they need to unleash new artificial intelligence applications and thus impact all aspects of how the world learns, connects, and conducts business.
