Google Unveils Project Astra and AR Glasses at I/O Developer Conference

TapTechNews May 15th news, Google announced and demonstrated Project Astra at today's I/O developer conference, and unexpectedly showcased a pair of AR glasses.

In the video demonstration, the presenter asked Gemini, 'Do you remember where you saw my glasses?' Gemini's response was, 'Yes, I remember. Your glasses are placed on the table, right next to the apple.'

The presenter picked up the glasses and put them on, then asked more questions about what they were looking at to the artificial intelligence. Apparently, there is a camera on the device to help it understand the surrounding environment, and we also see some interface, with waveforms moving indicating it is listening. From the video, it can be seen that these glasses at least also have a microphone and speaker, as well as some kind of processor and a battery to power the whole device.

The video did not provide detailed information about this wearable device, the glasses have only a simple black frame, which is quite different from the previous Google Glass, but it doesn't seem very heavy.
