Zeng Yuqun expressed in the letter that the domestic market is getting more and more intense, and CATL's overseas market share caught up with LG last year, and there is still more room; in 2024, the international situation is changing rapidly, but the new energy trend is an international consensus, and the temporary uncertainty instead gives more opportunities to those with abilities.
It is reported that at the end of last year, the computer desktops of CATL employees were uniformly set to such a slogan - 'Whoever goes overseas is the hero of the company. Go out and go overseas.'
CATL's market share in the international market (markets other than China) in 2023 is 27%, and the overseas market contributes 33% of CATL's income, and these incomes mainly come from exports: making batteries in China and then selling them abroad.
It is reported that CATL has already built and prepared, and the total number of factories under construction overseas has reached 8, and contacted some material suppliers to go overseas to build factories at the end of last year.
CATL has disclosed 6 overseas factory plans, namely: the German Thuringia factory, the Hungarian factory, the Michigan factory in the US (in cooperation with Ford), the Nevada factory in the US (in cooperation with Tesla), the Indonesian factory and the Thai factory.
In addition, on May 7th, CATL signed a cooperation agreement with the French CMA CGM Group. According to the agreement, the two sides will give full play to their advantages in their respective fields and focus on building a comprehensive and complete greenhouse gas emission reduction solution.
According to the data of the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, in the ranking of domestic power battery enterprise installed capacity from January to April 2024, CATL accounts for 47.67% and is far ahead.
