JAC and Huawei to Launch Luxury Intelligent New Energy Vehicle
TapTechNews May 30th news, JAC Group has officially announced that the luxury intelligent new energy vehicle jointly developed with Huawei is about to be launched.
Currently, the Super Factory, the Jianghuai High-end New Energy Automobile Base in the Zhongpai area of Feixi, which is responsible for the production of the cooperation model between JAC and Huawei, has started the recruitment process, with the job category of M-level, mainly for management and expert positions at the early stage, including the director of the stamping plant, the director of the body plant, the director of the coating plant, the director of the final assembly plant, the minister of the process technology department, the minister of the production logistics department, and the lean production expert, etc.
In terms of job requirements, in addition to a bachelor's degree, many positions require more than five years of relevant management experience in the automotive industry, joint-venture auto enterprises or leading auto enterprises.
JAC and Huawei signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Framework Agreement and MDC Platform Project Cooperation Agreement in December 2019. The two sides plan to conduct in-depth cooperation in aspects such as intelligent driving, intelligent cockpit, intelligent electric, intelligent connection, and cloud services. However, it didn't enter the substantial cooperation stage until the end of last year.
On December 1, 2023, JAC issued an announcement stating that it signed the Intelligent New Energy Automobile Cooperation Agreement with Huawei Terminal Co., Ltd., which is valid for 10 years from the date of signing.
The JAC side said, Both sides will comprehensively cooperate in multiple fields such as product development, production, manufacturing, sales, and service based on Huawei's intelligent vehicle solution, and strive to create a luxurious intelligent connected electric vehicle. Through continuous upgrading and iteration of the cooperative model, it meets the needs of users for intelligent connected vehicles.
According to the agreement, the product development of the cooperative models is generally responsible by JAC, and at the same time, JAC is responsible for building the production base to realize the delivery of the cooperative models. While Huawei Terminal or its designated third party provides exclusive sales and service of the cooperative models globally, including but not limited to marketing, sales, user and ecological operation. In the construction of the service system, Huawei Terminal and JAC will jointly build around the cooperative models.
On May 21 this year, that is, the WeChat public account of the Feixi County Party Committee Propaganda Department released the news that the Super Factory of the Jianghuai High-end New Energy Automobile Base in the Zhongpai area of Feixi will be responsible for the production of the cooperation model between JAC and Huawei.
According to the Environmental Impact Report of Jianghuai's Annual Production of 200,000 Medium and High-end Intelligent Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles Construction Project publicly stated by the Anhui Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment earlier, the total investment of this factory is about 3.981 billion yuan, of which the newly added fixed asset investment is about 2.298 billion yuan. After the project reaches production capacity, it will produce 200,000 new energy passenger cars annually.
The Report shows that JAC will build two pure electric platforms (DE, X6), among which the DE pure electric platform is a new energy exclusive platform, mainly to meet the needs of the domestic economic and im proved market, and the products cover B-class sedans, C-class sedans, A+-class SUVs and B-class models; while the X6 pure electric platform is a luxury new energy platform, and the covered vehicle level is medium and large MPV models. Through the empowerment of Huawei's intelligent technology, it actively seizes the domestic high-end market.
Yu Chengdong, the Standing Director of Huawei and the Chairman of the Intelligent Automobile Solution BU, previously also said: The product name of the cooperation between Huawei and JAC has not been determined yet, and it may be to make a million-dollar, very high-end (model). Our benchmark far exceeds the grade of Maybach, Rolls-Royce Phantom, and is more luxurious, higher-end, and more comfortable. The positioning of JAC (the cooperation model with Huawei) is super high-end.
