ThermalGrizzly Launches New Cooling Products for Intel Processors

TapTechNews on May 20, news came that ThermalGrizzly, the violent bear, has recently launched two cooling products for Intel LGA1700 platform processors with the lid removed, including the third-party顶盖 HighPerformanceHeatspreader V1 and the direct-contact water cooling head MycroDirectDie V1.

Intel HighPerformanceHeatspreader V1 Lid

ThermalGrizzly said that the surface of the Intel HighPerformanceHeatspreader V1 Lid is processed by diamond milling, which can provide twice the contact area of the original Intel lid.

ThermalGrizzly claims that the processor using this lid has achieved an average temperature of 77.3°F (about 25.2°C) in a split water cooling test system, a decrease of 14.8°F (about 8.2°C) compared to the original solution of 92.1°F (about 33.4°C).

ThermalGrizzly suggests that users use liquid metal for heat conduction between the third-party lid and the processor chip, but there is no requirement for the heat-conducting material between the lid and the radiator. Because the regular thermal pad will bring additional thickness and affect the pressure between the lid and the CPU.

This third-party lid is made of nickel-plated copper material, and the nickel-plated layer on the surface can prevent the liquid metal from corroding the copper by forming an alloy, thereby prolonging the service life of the liquid metal and the lid.

ThermalGrizzly has priced the Intel HighPerformanceHeatspreader V1 third-party lid at 44.9 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about $400).

Intel MycroDirectDie V1 Direct-contact Water Cooling Head

MycroDirectDie V1 water cooling head is equipped with an optimized micro-fin design, and the top is made of CNC-milled POM material, including 2 G1/4 threaded liquid flow input and output ports.

In another split water cooling test model, this water cooling head recorded an average temperature of 74.9°F (about 23.8°C), a reduction of 17.2°F (about 9.6°C) compared to the non-lid-removed solution.

Like the third-party lid, this direct-contact water cooling head is made of nickel-plated copper, and ThermalGrizzly also suggests using liquid metal for heat conduction between the bottom surface of the water cooling head and the CPU chip.

ThermalGrizzly has priced the Intel MycroDirectDie V1 direct-contact water cooling head at 99.9 euros (currently about $1100).

In addition to these two products, ThermalGrizzly also plans to launch another direct-contact water cooling head in the coming weeks: Intel MycroDirectDieProRGB V1. Its cooling performance is stronger than the existing products, and it also has RGB lighting effects.
