Google Chrome to Introduce New Feature of Red Full-Screen Warning for Malicious File Downloads

TapTechNews July 20th news, tech media GHacks reported that Google Chrome is about to introduce a new feature. If users download files containing malicious code, the browser will prompt users with a full-screen red background.

TapTechNews note: The Google Chrome browser has a built-in corresponding algorithm that will prevent users from downloading file contents containing malicious code, but currently it is only limited to download pop-ups and pages, prompting users that the file they are downloading has a problem and marking it in red with 'Dangerous download blocked'.

After clicking to download, more information will be displayed. In the case of test download, the Chrome browser shows 'This file is dangerous'.

And the latest news says that Google has already tested the full-screen red pop-up reminder in the Chrome browser of the Canary channel, similar to phishing and malicious websites, and reminds users through the full-screen interface that this is a malicious file and not to continue downloading.

In the pop-up page, several options are still provided. By default, users need to click to return to safe browsing, but if users still need to download, they can choose to continue to select download.
