Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4070 with GDDR6 Memory Released, But with Confusions

TapTechNews August 22nd news, the tech media videocardz posted a blog yesterday (August 21st) stating that the first batch of GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards with GDDR6 memory has been released, but the packaging is not much different from the GDDR6X memory version and there is no clear marking as GDDR6 memory.

TapTechNews reported on August 20th that Nvidia released the GameReady driver for 'Black Myth: Wukong' and 'Star Wars: Outlaws', and also released the GeForce RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory in the press release, indicating that related products will start to go on the market in September.

Nvidia said that except for the memory, other specifications of the new RTX 4070 remain unchanged (and of course the price of 4799 yuan is also maintained), providing similar performance in games and applications, and related products will be available through various major OEMs from September.

Consistent with the original RTX 4070, the GDDR6 memory version still maintains 5888 CUDA cores, and the memory speed is slightly reduced from 21 Gbps of GDDR6X to 20 Gbps, and the bandwidth will be reduced from 504 GB/s to 480 GB/s, a reduction of 24 GB/s.

Although some brands may list the memory type (such as G6/GDDR6) next to the memory specification, none of the first 8 models released show this information.

For players who have plans to upgrade or buy RTX 4070, the choice now becomes more difficult.
