TapTechNews June 13th, the iPhone has a 'battery reserve' feature that retains a small amount of power, which can still support functions such as 'Find My iPhone' and NFC unlocking even when the phone is shut down. In the latest iOS 18 system, this function has been further enhanced on iPhone 15 series models.

iPhone 15s Battery Reserve Feature Enhanced in iOS 18_0

According to the demonstration of Reddit users, after the battery of iPhone 15 running iOS 18 is depleted, the time will continue to be displayed in the upper left corner of the screen, which is a small change but can bring great convenience. TapTechNews noticed that at this time the battery icon will still be displayed, and prompts such as 'Find function available' will also be displayed.

It is worth noting that this new feature seems to be limited to iPhone 15 series models. Macrumors did not see that the time would be displayed after the battery was depleted on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it could be displayed normally on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is currently not clear why it is not compatible with older models, after all, the 'battery reserve' function has already existed on iPhone XR and iPhone XS.
