TapTechNews reported on June 6th that the tech media WindowsLatest published a blog post today stating that the Windows 10 and Windows 11 stable builds will automatically install the new version of the 'Sticky Notes' application , but it will not replace the existing UWP version client at this stage.
If Windows 10 and Windows 11 system users have installed the OneNote desktop client, they will automatically install the new version of the 'Sticky Notes' application, and the shortcut will appear in the start menu and other categories.
If users still want to use the old version of the 'Sticky Notes' application, they can also download and access it through the Microsoft Store app store.
TapTechNews briefly summarizes the characteristics of the new version of the 'Sticky Notes' application as follows:
Users can now use the 'Sticky Notes' application to take screenshots, unlike the traditional Win+PrintScreen shortcut that can capture all content, this software can only capture the opened window.
Unlike traditional screenshot shortcuts and screenshot tools, the 'Sticky Notes' application can also remember the source of the picture.
For example, if a user takes a screenshot of a browser window, 'Sticky Notes' will remember it and attach a web link above the picture, and users can also add text to these captured snapshots later.
The new option (not yet effective) of the 'Sticky Notes' application can perform OCR recognition of text and copy it to the clipboard.
