TapTechNews June 13th, the BMW M2 Coupe has received a mid-life facelift, and its power performance has also been further enhanced. As part of the facelift, the BMW M division has equipped the 2025 M2 with an upgraded 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder turbocharged engine, with the maximum power increased by 20 horsepower to 473 horsepower. The torque has also increased to 600 N·m, and the peak torque range is 2650-6130 rpm.

The upgraded M2 has the same power parameters as the manual transmission M3 and M4. BMW officials said that thanks to the power improvement, the 0-62 miles per hour (about 100 kilometers) acceleration time has been shortened by 0.1 second. Among them, the standard version of the M2 Coupe equipped with the 8-speed MSteptronic torque converter automatic transmission, the 0-62 miles per hour acceleration time is 4.0 seconds; while the optional 6-speed manual transmission version is 4.2 seconds.

In the acceleration test from 0 to 124 miles (about 200 kilometers), the new model shows more powerful power. Both the automatic and manual transmission models are 0.6 seconds faster than the old models, which are 12.9 seconds and 13.7 seconds respectively. The top speed is still electronically limited to 155 miles per hour (about 250 kilometers), but the optional MDriver's driving package can increase the top speed to 177 miles per hour (about 285 kilometers).

TapTechNews noticed that although there is no big change in appearance, the new M2 offers more optional colors, such as São Paulo Yellow, Flame Red, Portoimão Blue, and Skyscraper Gray. The standard M wheels are designed with a black double-spoke and 19 inches for the front wheel and 20 inches for the rear wheel. There is also a silver-coated wheel option.

For the interior, the M2 Coupe is equipped with a new flat-bottom steering wheel with an optional Alcantara covering. The upgraded model also adopts the latest iDrive8.5 system, further enhancing the experience of the digital operating system.

This facelift is part of the facelift of the BMW 2 Series. The standard version models have also been fine-tuned, adding new design elements and internal technology configurations. It is worth noting that after the 1 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, and 5 Series, the facelifted 2 Series will also only offer gasoline p owertrain versions, and diesel models will be completely discontinued.

The M2 will continue to be produced together with the standard version of the 2 Series Coupe in the BMW plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. Currently, the specific price of the facelift model has not been announced.
