OpenAI's Revenue Doubles in Six Months, Hits $3.4 Billion

TapTechNews on June 13, according to unnamed sources quoted by TheInformation early this morning, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman told employees that in the past approximately six months, the company's annual revenue reached 3.4 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 24.699 billion yuan), doubling from the end of last year. Altman also mentioned that OpenAI's access to the AI model through Microsoft Azure is also expected to generate approximately 200 million US dollars (currently about 1.453 billion yuan).

It is understood that at the end of 2023, OpenAI's annualized revenue was only 1.6 billion US dollars (currently about 11.623 billion yuan), and was about 1 billion US dollars last summer (currently about 0.7264 billion yuan).

Most of these revenues come from the subscription version of ChatGPT, which provides higher message limits for users who pay at least $20 per month. At the same time, a portion of the revenue also comes from developers - to use OpenAI's large language model in their own applications and services. In response, OpenAI refused to comment.

Earlier this year, OpenAI completed a tender offer, which valued the company at $86 billion. In recent months, OpenAI has been increasing the revenue of its AI products by providing services to enterprise customers.
