Xiaomi's East China Headquarters and Nanjing Science and Technology Park Opens

TapTechNews on May 19th, the East China Headquarters of Xiaomi Group and Nanjing Science and Technology Park officially opened today, becoming the largest Xiaomi R & D center in the country except for the Beijing headquarters.

TapTechNews learned that Lei Jun announced in 2017 that the East China headquarters of Xiaomi would be located in Nanjing, and the signing ceremony of the East China headquarters project was held. In March 2018, Xiaomi's first 300-person R & D team moved into the transitional office of the New Town Science and Technology Park carrier. In the same year in April, the national headquarters of Xiaomi Youpin landed, and the world's first Xiaomi Youpin flagship store was opened in the next month. Last year, Xiaomi's Nanjing turnover reached 1.2 billion US dollars, and the annual R & D investment was about 540 million US dollars, a significant increase for the fifth consecutive year.

The Nanjing Science and Technology Park of Xiaomi covers an area of 368,000 square meters, including scientific research and design offices, talent apartments, and various supporting facilities, and is planned to be built into an industrial cluster centered on scientific and technological innovation businesses such as smart hardware, mobile Internet, ecological chain, and related services.

As the software R & D center and talent base of Xiaomi Group, the East China Headquarters of Xiaomi Group will focus on businesses such as mobile phone and automotive software development and Internet services in the future. In the future, the East China Headquarters of Xiaomi Group is expected to reach a scale of 5,000 people in 3 years and strive to recruit 10,000 people in 5 years.
