TapTechNews learned from the official that 5G video alarm is a new alarm mode relying on the 5G network integrating the 110 alarm scenario. Huizhou City, as the first city in Guangdong Province to launch 5G video alarm, when the alarm person reports to Huizhou 110 through an Android system mobile phone or a HarmonyOS system mobile phone, the operator can directly initiate a video call request to the alarm person according to the need of receiving and handling the police, and the video connection can be achieved after the alarm person agrees.

This way of receiving and alarming is simple and convenient, without changing the existing way for the masses to call 110, and without the need to install any App or small program in advance. If the alarm person thinks that video alarm is not needed, they can report by voice according to the original mode.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, the 110 receiving police seats in the whole province will be gradually upgraded and transformed into video receiving police seats. In the next step, 5G video alarm will be promoted and put into operation in the whole province, and gradually join hands with China Telecom and China Unicom to popularize 5G video alarm to mobile phone users of different operators to serve more people.

It is worth mentioning that Guangdong is the birthplace of 110. On January 10, 1986, the 110 alarm service platform was first established in the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Province. In 2019, the Internet alarm small program was launched on the Guangdong Public Security.
