NIO EL8 Officially Launched in Five European Countries

TapTechNews June 17th news, on June 13th, NIO EL8 (known as ES8 in China) was officially launched in five European countries of Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark. This is the sixth model that NIO has launched in Europe after ET7, ET5, EL6, EL7 and ET5T.

In the German market, NIO EL8 offers two models. The price of the 75 kWh battery version is 94,900 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 739,000 RMB), while the price of the 100 kWh battery version is 103,900 euros (currently about 809,000 RMB). As a comparison, the price of NIO ES8 in China is 498,000-598,000 RMB. The starting price of NIO EL8 in the German market is about 240,000 RMB higher than that of NIO ES8 in China.

TapTechNews noticed that NIO EL8 launched in Europe is the same in design and configuration as ES8 in the domestic market, equipped with hidden door handles, lookout tower laser radar and several high-definition cameras. The vehicle size is 5099 millimeters in length, 1989 millimeters in width and 1750 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 3070 millimeters. In terms of car paint selection, NIO EL8 provides five colors, but compared to ES8 in the domestic market, there are fewer color options such as Antarctic Star Blue, Aerospace Blue and Star Gray.

In terms of interior, NIO EL8 is equipped with a floating central control screen and a full LCD instrument panel, and supports AR/VR video output. The car adopts a 2+2+2 six-seat layout. The front two rows of seats use the seat frame platform independently developed by NIO and have heating, ventilation and massage functions. The third row of seats supports heating. In addition, the car is also equipped with an enhanced 7.1.4 immersive sound system and a car refrigerator and other luxury configurations.

In terms of the power system, NIO EL8 is equipped with a front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive system, with a comprehensive power of 480 kilowatts and a peak torque of 850 Newton-meters. The vehicle is also equipped with a double-chamber air suspension, a CDC dynamic damping control system and a Bosch IPB intelligent wire-controlled braking system. The WLTP standard cruising range of the 75 kWh battery version is 390 kilometers, while the cruising range of the 100 kWh battery version is 510 kilometers.

In 2023, the cumulative sales of NIO cars in the European market reached 2399, and the company has established a charging and swapping network in Europe, including 43 swap stations and 45 super charging piles, and has access to more than 600,000 third-party charging piles to meet the charging needs of customers.
