The media Shangguan News today sorted out the cost of the driverless ride-hailing car under RoboRun, believing that the daily cost of each car of RoboRun exceeds $58 (about 370 yuan):

At present, the mainstream model of RoboRun in Wuhan is the fifth-generation car of Apollo under Baidu, and the cost of one car is $7500 (about 480,000 yuan). Calculated according to the 8-year compulsory retirement period of ride-hailing cars, the daily depreciation cost of a single car is about $25 (about 160 yuan), plus the labor cost of the safety officer, electricity cost, car washing and other operating expenses, the daily cost of RoboRun exceeds $58.

As a comparison, the current price of the driverless ride-hailing car under RoboRun is about $0.78 (about 5 yuan) for 5 kilometers (after subsidy). If calculated according to the maximum 20 orders per day for ride-hailing drivers, the daily income of a single car does not exceed $15 (about 100 yuan). This media believes that even without considering the upfront R & D and vehicle insurance and other expenses, the current pricing model in Wuhan is far from being able to cover the operating cost.

According to TapTechNews' understanding, RoboRun is an autonomous driving travel service platform under Baidu, and has opened manned test operation services in 11 cities, and has carried out fully unmanned autonomous driving travel service tests in Beijing, Wuhan, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Shanghai.
